Founded in 2008, Butter Beans provides nutritious, wholesome meals for private schools, charter schools and summer camps through the tri-state area. In addition, Butter Beans also provides meals for food insecurity programs working with food banks and other city and state agencies. Along with our food services, Butter Beans operates wellness and food education programs to help students build critical connections between food, health, and sustainability.
Through its catering and cafeteria division, Butter Beans operates retail cafes and catering services at notable institutions like the New York Hall of Science Museum in Queens and UNICEF in the United Nations headquartered in Manhattan.
Butter Beans is based in Long Island City, NY and over the last 16 years has built a strong, positive reputation for delicious and nutritious food, while providing friendly, responsive service to students, parents, school administrators and the school community.

Butter Beans maintains a Director of Community & Nutrition as part of our leadership team, who provides children and parents with nutritional support. This includes
supporting individual dietary needs, such as food allergies and dietary restrictions.
