Butter Beans operates a 10,000 square foot commissary kitchen facility in Long Island City, New York.  This state of the art facility was designed from the ground up in 2021 to support our core values of maintaining a professional kitchen environment with strong operational efficiencies combined with kitchen and food safety excellence.  Our production is sustained by best in class, smart technology cooking equipment providing a high quality food product for schools, camps, food insecurity agencies and other meal programs. 

 

Butter Beans’ commissary kitchen facility is in production 51 weeks of the year, closed only during the last week of December. Food production is scheduled seven days each week, operating two shifts per day.   

 

Current production levels at Butter Beans commissary kitchen facility is 20,000 meals per day with a daily production capacity in excess of 45,000 meals.

 

Since 2021, our commissary has become the premiere kitchen facility for school foods in New York City.  It is a strategic asset for Butter Beans where every square inch of our facility and every dollar spent matters in our daily operations.  This facility has set Butter Beans apart as no other school food service provider in New York City has a comparable kitchen operation.
